Looks like I'm the youngest of the bunch perhaps lol! :D

I still have half a year before I'm 21.

I'm loving this topic thread.

Indeed. Online, the pseudo-anonymity allows us to be much bolder than we would be offline.

This Fall I'll be living with roommates at UCLA and I'm still unsure how things will go, whether I should tell them when I meet them if I'm gay or let them ask and find out themselves.

If I was your roommate I would prefer it if I asked you and you answered honestly, that is of course unless you're interested in one of your roommates or something of the sort, if its like that probably best for you to tell them straight out.

But seriously. What would you do if you were still in the 'confused' state of things??
Theres no one really for me to talk to about this so yea... The anonymity of being online is fantastic =]

I agree with that. I've been a lot more open, bolder, done a lot of things I wouldn't normally do in real life when I'm online. Sometimes I wonder if our online selves are closer to who we really are. I feel like that at times I'm stuck between who I really am openly and the "Brenton" I am outside in public. I think after more time I'll probably understand better.

Thanks for your opinion and advice MistaMR2. I have orientation this Friday and I'll be finding out who I'll be rooming with shortly. Hoping for the best, never know who I'll be meeting and whatnot. I'm excited.

Hmmm, "confused state of things", I never really had that sort of phase. Closest I could think of coming to that was accepting myself. Though if I were in that situation, I would probably want to talk to someone about it instead of keeping it inside like a secret. Sometimes talking it out with someone helps clear things up about how you're feeling or who you are. Funny how sometimes the people around you know you better than you know yourself.

Who knows, maybe your friends will surprise you. But it's true, you'll have to confront and face that question sooner or later, and I think sooner is for the best. I hope it goes well and that you do get someone to listen to you and help you out. Of course I'll lend an ear and hand if you'd like, there's always someone out there to talk to, just got to find those open arms.

I had help myself way back when I was in a state of denial and accepting who I was, and if it weren't for my friends (mostly online ones) I probably wouldn't be as happy as I am with myself right now. I wasn't happy about telling some of my close friends and all when I was 13 that I gay and needed their help, but in the end I got comfortable with myself and felt a lot better.

Don't sweat it out too much. I think you're doing good even if you just try a little, since it is something that's quite hard to tackle for some and is awkward to talk about at times. You're welcome!!! Plus you'll always have the SWAT Kats to keep you cheerful. Like T-Bone and Razor, you'll kick some tail and make the best of whatever happens :D. (Being cheesy a little bit but got to lighten the mood and have some fun you know~!)

Hey that's not totally true! I'm sure there's plenty of average looking guys and some hot guys that aren't gay hehe . You can be their friend at least though lol! If not, maybe we can help you find one 8).

You know what the worst part is? Meeting someone for the first time when a friend introduces them and come to find out their gay.

but yeah, I'm single. Probably too old for most of ya anyways.

Well I've had some sort of similar experiences. Probably my worst pet peeve is falling for a straight guy lol. Like when I meet a guy for the first time and just fall for him but then find out he doesn't swing that way. So I can relate with that sort of disappointment as well Jessie. But you can't always have them all you know, but I like it that way. Makes that one person really special :D.

Wow, glad I bumped into this topic.

I guess you can say that I'm one of those people who are still confused about their sexual orientation. Good looking guys tend to get my attention more than girls but when it comes to being intimate in bed with a guy...well.... that's where I draw the line.

For us gay guys, how open have we been about our gayness?

I'm not opened about it, whether I'm gay or just bi. Even if they asked, I'll just tell them that I'm straight because I already know what it's like to lose a friend when you open up to them. They start to act differently and etc so I'm very careful about who I open up to. Still, it's hard to find someone who knows where I'm coming from in real life.

Oh.. I'm having that problem now. I can't stop staring at this guy at work. I only started work recently and wasn't getting along with a handful of people but he was the one who kept inviting me out for lunch and etc. But only today I learned that he was straight because he's Christian and seeing two guys kiss gives him the creeps. But at least we can still be friends/eyecandy.

So I don't know. Maybe I'm gay but in denial or vice versa. I've never been in a relationship with a girl so I guess I won't know til I find out, huh? Hahaha, my life is complicated. :?

Gah! Lesson one, never ever date anyone you work with. I made that mistake long ago.

IanClawsonX,

That is a pretty difficult situation to be in. But I think Jessie summed it up in a different way, and I agree with her. Not a very good idea to date someone you work around with, it can get very messy if things don't go quite as smoothly. My advice though is to just be friends if you really want to be able to be around him. In my honest opinion, if I were in that situation I wouldn't be friends with that guy since I've gone through so many straight friend crushes and most never end up well. For me, I just try to avoid straight guys that I really like in general to avoid stepping on any toes or causing any problems. I have plenty of gay friends to hang out with so I do fine with them, but I know that might not be the case for you.

Life is complicated, but I hope you'll be able to find out the answer to your questions. Sometimes it just takes inner reflection or time to figure out who you are. All that matters is that whatever you find yourself to be and who you are, you should feel comfortable to be you just as you are. If you can accept yourself others will see that as well. I know things can be difficult at a time when you aren't sure or confused, but just know that honesty with yourself is the best solution. I rather be truthful to myself and happy with who I am than live a lie that other's expect me to follow.

Anyways I'm not sure what applies with you, but you do whatever makes you the most comfortable. You can't go wrong with what you feel is right for yourself. Plus they'll always be someone to listen and help you out somewhere, just got to find that person.

Agreed. It can be awkward thing at work, if things go err 'Weird' it can ruin the both of you. The guy I was dating from work, drank himself drunk the day I broke up with him. We couldn't eat together in the same lunchroom, couldn't work together etc... he quit the job and went somewhere else. It was the whole I'm not in love with you / I don't like you like you like me kind of thing.

ANYWHO just yea, don't do it.
